Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Bodhya is operated by Vishal Arya ("Bodhya", "we", "us", or "our"). This Policy explains how voluntary contributions made through bodhya.net are handled, and the timelines that apply if you need a refund.

Payments on this site are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited. We do not store your card, UPI, or bank details at any point.

What You Are Paying For

Bodhya does not sell goods, and does not charge for access to this website or its content. Payments accepted through this site are voluntary contributions that fund community programmes for students in Bihar — workshops, mentorship, travel support, and the running costs of the programmes described on our About page.

Because a contribution is a voluntary gift rather than a purchase, no goods are shipped and there is no product to return.

Refund Eligibility

Contributions are, as a rule, non-refundable once processed.

We will, however, refund a contribution in full in any of the following cases:

  • Duplicate payment — you were charged more than once for the same intended contribution
  • Incorrect amount — a technical or data-entry error resulted in an amount you did not intend
  • Unauthorised payment — the transaction was made without your authorisation
  • Failed or undelivered transaction — the amount was debited but the contribution was not recorded against your name

Outside these cases, refunds are at our discretion. We will consider genuine requests made in good faith.

Timelines

StageTimeline
Window to raise a refund request7 calendar days from the date of the transaction
Our acknowledgement of your request5 business days from receipt
Decision communicated to you7 business days from receipt
Approved refund initiated to your payment method5–7 business days from approval
Amount reflected in your accountPer your bank or card issuer's cycle, typically 5–10 business days after we initiate it

Once we initiate a refund, the time taken for the amount to appear in your account is controlled by your bank or card issuer and is outside our control.

An unauthorised transaction may be reported at any time, not only within the 7-day window.

Cancelling a Recurring Contribution

If you have set up a recurring or standing contribution, you may cancel it at any time by writing to us at the address below. Cancellation stops all future debits. It does not automatically refund contributions already collected — those are assessed under the eligibility rules above.

We will confirm a cancellation within 5 business days of your request.

How to Request a Refund

Email [email protected] with:

  • the transaction / payment ID from your receipt or bank statement
  • the date and amount of the payment
  • the reason for the request

Requests are handled by the contact named on our Contact & Grievance Redressal page. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, that page also sets out how to escalate.

Refund Method

Approved refunds are credited to the original payment method only — the same card, UPI ID, or bank account used for the contribution. We do not issue refunds in cash, to a third-party account, or as credit toward anything else.
